In Europe, councils, municipalities and villages have kept the tradition of the weekly market where small traders set up stalls and sell by interacting with the public. And London is no exception. It features weekly markets on different days of the week, each with a specialization: food, fashion, accessories, antiques, arts etc. I think that the best experience I had in my life was when I accidentally walked into the Marylebone Farmer’s Market and saw eccentric vegetables, one of which was the truffle-potato. It looked like a potato with a truffle-like texture. Markets like the Old Spitalfields Market (image above), the Portobello Road Market and the Camden Lock Market are markets where I can spend hours and hours. Some of these markets can house more than 100 stalls and traders. I would never buy all of the stuff I need from such markets. For me, these markets are about entertainment and fun and buying unique objects and items.
في اوروبا, لقد ابقت المجالس البلدية والقرى تقليد الاسواق الاسبوعية حيت يُشيّد التجار الصغار اكشاكاً لبيع اغراضهم وحيث يلتقون بالمشترين. وقد تبعت العاصمة الانكليزية لندن هذا التقليد حيث تقيم اسواقاً يوميةً متنوعةٍ في مختلف ايام الاسبوع. ولكل سوقٍ اختصاصه: المواد الغذائية، الأزياء، الاكسسوارات، التحف، الفنون، الخ... ولعلّ أفضل تجربة سوقٍ تقليديٍ في حياتي كانت عندما دخلت سوق المزارعين في ماريليبون و رأيت خضاراً بغاية الغرابة منها البطاطس-الكمأة التي كانت عبارة عن بطاطس بجلدٍ يشبه جلدة كمأة. ويمكنني ان اقضي ساعاتٍ وساعات اتجول في اسواق سبيتلفيلدز (صورة في الاعلى) وكامدن وبورتوبيلو. فتحتوي بعض هذه الاسواق على اكثر من 100 تاجر. ولكنني لا اشترِ كل ما احتاج اليه من السوق التقليدي فهي بالنسبة لي اسواقاً للترفيه والمتعة ولشراء اغراض واشياء مميزة وفريدة من نوعها
The most traditional and regular market experience you can have is to shop in a mall or in neat/clean shops along a popular shopping street. Chances are that this street was a traditional market in the past. Oxford Street for example (image above) became well-known for its shops in the nineteenth century and is now the busiest shopping street in Europe. In London, the department store evolved from draper’s stores. These stores were traditional shops that sold fabric to people and that created a transformation in people’s shopping experience by slowly adding and expanding their product lines to become department stores.
The most modern shopping experience you might have is online shopping. My grandmother would have never imagined it. For her, it would have really been sci-fi shopping and yet, a lot of people shop online these days. It is very convenient and allows you to access products that you cannot find in stores around you. In London, when an item is missing within a physical store, the sales person usually tells you that you can order it online. If you live in the Middle East, you can access products that are only available in Europe or in the US through online shopping. And for those who dread to shop and to look for bargains, shopping online is the best thing that has ever been created. Within five minutes, you can choose what you want, place an order and receive it. It is very quick, easy and simple. I have bought everything and anything from websites: books and more importantly rare books, air mattresses, calculators, clothes and even groceries. These online stores should offer me a great experience if they want me to continuously come back to them and at Tamarindie, we like to take care of you online as well.

ويُعتبر التسوق في المراكز التجارية او في المحلات التجارية الانيقة والنظيفة في شارع تسوقٍ معروفٍ من تجارب التسوق الاكثر شيوعاً عامةً. ولعل شارع التسوق المعروف حالياً كان قد تحول من سوقٍ تقليديٍ غير منظمٍ الى شارعٍ جميلٍ وانيقٍ يتوق الناس الى ارتياده وقضاء الوقت فيه. فاصبح شارع اوكسفرد في العاصمة الانكليزية مثلاً معروفاً جداً في القرن التاسع عشر وهو الان شارع التسوق الاكثر انشغالاً في اوروبا هذه الايام. وولدت المتاجر المتعددة الاقسام في العاصمة الانكليزية من محالات الاقمشة وتطورها حيث انها بدأت تعرض شيءً فشيءً منتجات متعددة بالاضافة الى الاقمشة. فاذ بالمشترين ان تقبلوا التنوع ورحبوا به لانه حوّل وحسّن تجربة تسوقهم
وان التسوق والشراء عبر الانترنت هو احدث اسلوب تسوق في العالم. ما كانت جدتي لتتخيله وبالنسبة لها لعل اسلوب التسوق هذا هو تسوقٌ آتٍ من سلسلة خيالٍ علمي. وعلى الرغم من ذالك, هناك الكثير من المتسوقين يحبون ويفضلون هذا النوع من التسوق حيث ان بامكانهم تحصيل منتجاتٍ موجودةٍ فقط على الانترنت. في متاجر لندن, عندما لا يتواجد منتج تريده في محل, يدعوك البائع ان تشتريه عبر موقع المتجر الالكتروني. اذا كنت تسكن في الشرق الاوسط, يمكنك الحصول على منتجات لا تتوفر الا في اوروبا واميركا عبر الانترنت . وللذين لا يستمتعون بالتسوق والبحث والمساومات، قد يكون التسوق على الانترنت هو أفضل اختراع في التاريخ حتى الان. في خمس دقائقٍ فقط، يمكنك اختيار ما تريد وطلبه والحصول عليه. انه اسلوب شراء سريعٌ وسهلٌ جداً. لقد اشتريت في الماضي كل شيءٍ وأي شيءٍ في الماضي عن شبكة الانترنت : الكتب والكتب النادرة وفرشات الهواء والآلات الحاسبة والملابس وحتى الخضار. ولأرجع واشتري مرة اخرى من هذه المحلات الالكترونة, لابد ان يوفروا لي تجربة شراء رئعة. وهذا ما نفعله لزبائننا ايضاً عند تامارندي
